Raft the Alsek River
12-14 Day Alsek River Expedition
The Alsek River expedition embodies all of the elements of a genuine “Far North” adventure as it flows through a huge pristine ice age wilderness of stark, but exquisite beauty. From seemingly endless vistas, to narrow canyon views, visitors experience a landscape created by advancing and receding glaciers and continual scouring by the silt-laden river. Wildlife is abundant, including bears, wolves, foxes, wolverines, moose, mountain goats, tundra swans, and eagles. Wildflowers grow profusely along the river banks, adding color and softness to the glaciated terrain. The expedition starts in Kluane National Park, Yukon Territory, flows through the Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park in British Columbia, and concludes at Dry Bay in Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park.

About the Raft
About the Raft used for the 12-14 Day Alsek River Expedition
We use 18′ rowing rafts on our Alsek River Expedition. Each raft accommodates 4 passengers and is rowed by a licensed guide.
Guests are encouraged to rotate between rafts so they get acquainted with other passengers and the entire crew. The guides will give instructions for when the boats go through the rapids.
Camping and Dining on the 12-14 Day Alsek River Expedition
Our meals consist of a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products. They are nutritious and delicious. Although we do not serve a “vegetarian” menu, we do provide enough fresh produce and non-meat items that most vegetarian dieters get along fine for the week they are on the river.
We are willing to try and help with special diet requests, but if your food options are very restrictive or require extra time or preparations we may not be able to accommodate you. Please give us a call to discuss your particular diet needs. We may suggest that you bring some of your own food items to supplement our menu.
