SPECIAL PHOTOGRAPHY & JOURNALING TRIP WITH STEPHEN TRIMBLE

Stephen Trimble has been writing and photographing in Canyonlands Country ever since he was a seasonal park ranger at Arches and Capitol Reef in the 1970s. He’s published 25 award-winning books, and in 2019 was chosen as one of Utah’s 15 most influential artists. He’s a lifelong advocate for Redrock Country conservation. On this trip with CRATE, Steve will share his understanding of light and sense of design as a photographer. He’ll bring along readings from classic and contemporary Canyon Country writers. And he’ll provide inspirational prompts for anyone who wants to spend a few minutes each day journaling. Poet Mary Oliver sums up Steve’s approach to creative work: “Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it."
